  3. Welcome to version 2.0 of EW256BMP.DLL, the WinHelp
  4. Extension Library that allows you to easily display
  5. 256 color and 24-bit bitmaps in your Windows Help
  6. files.
  7.  
  8. Plus, version 2.0 adds 16 custom WinHelp macros for
  9. use when constructing your Windows Help files. The
  10. macros are easy to use and add a lot of extra
  11. functionality that is otherwise not easy to obtain
  12. -- or that cannot be obtained -- otherwise. Here is
  13. some of what EW256BMP adds to your Help file writing
  14. arsenal:

  16. ** A CUSTOM DIALOG you can define on the fly and call
  17. at any time. You can set the dialog box title bar
  18. text, the dialog's title caption, a FULL copyright
  19. statement, a brief description of your file, the size
  20. and color of the dialog's title text, as well as the
  21. background color of the dialog box itself.
  22.  
  23. ** EASY TO DISPLAY MESSAGE BOXES...four different
  24. styles, in fact. Completely configurable as you
  25. define the message box text and the text to display
  26. on the title bar of the message box.
  27.  
  28. ** EASILY EXTRACT files you have stored as baggage
  29. files in Help's internal file system.
  30.  
  31. ** DELETE FILES you have extracted from Help's internal
  32. file system when you are finished with their use. Allows
  33. you to store multimedia elements as a part of the Help
  34. file itself and delete them when you use them, leaving
  35. the user's drive free of a bunch of unwanted or
  36. unneeded files.

  38. ** CHANGE THE TITLE BAR TEXT of any Help window virtually
  39. at will, at any time, in your Help file.

  41. ** PRINT MANY OR ALL THE TOPICS in the Help file with
  42. a new custom macro that allows you to specify topics
  43. sequentially and print them out one after the other.

  45. ** READ & WRITE values from/to any INI file on the user's
  46. system...or create your own INI file with two new custom
  47. macros that easily allow you to manipulate INI files.

  51. EW256BMP.DLL is only about 23K in size. Documentation is
  52. included as a Windows Help file that also demonstrates all
  53. the new custom macros EW256BMP.DLL provides.

  55. This DLL is shareware and registration is only $20. Your
  56. registration will be good for all future releases of this
  57. DLL, regardless of any future price increases. Thus, if
  58. you register now, you are immune to any price increase.

  60. Unregistered versions of this DLL display a "NAG" message
  61. box in the Help files that use it when it is first called.
  62. Registration will get you the code that disables this NAG
  63. message box.

  65. To register, print out the registration form in the Help
  66. file, and mail it with your check to the address on the
  67. form.
